Catherine Rose (Suter) Kiser

Catherine Rose “Kate” Kiser, 74, of Austell, GA, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at  Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. She was born Oct. 8, 1942 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Thomas Edwin and Gracie Marie McCoy Suter Sr.  Kate was retired  as the executive secretary for Dr. Percy Mack at the Redan (GA) High School, was the bookkeeper for Suter Services LLC, her own company, for 10 years working for her son Tim and had previously been employed as a secretary for the Washington-Nile school district. She was a 1960 Portsmouth West High School graduate and had a degree in Accounting Business Services from the former Portsmouth Interstate Business College. Catherine was of the Methodist faith and was named an Ambassador to new tenants at the Atria Senior Care facility where she made her home.

   She is survived by her son, Timothy Aaron (Vera) Kiser of Smyrna, GA; her daughter, Lisa Renee Kiser of Decatur, GA; her brother, Thomas E. (Lori) Suter Jr. of Wheelersburg; three sisters, Jacqueline Marie McDermott of Friendship, Candace Diane Etter of Lucasville, Patricia Ann (Brian) Gilmore of Eyota, MN; one grandson, Christopher Vargas; Tim and Vera’s God son, Aaron Holmes, nieces; Brianna Gilmore and  Dr. Barbara McDermott; nephews, Seth McDermott, Pastor Brandon Gilmore, Tyler Suter, Jon and Mike  Staten and her very special friend, Susan Essman.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m at the  RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m until the funeral hour with Pastor Brandon Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Scioto Burial Park.
