Clyde Jeffery “Jeff” Marcum, 59, of Portsmouth, passed away at his home Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017. Jeff was born in Columbus on June 5, 1958, a son of Louisa Corina “Rene” Marcum of Portsmouth and the late Roy Harrison Marcum Sr. He was a Christian, an Army veteran and a 1976 graduate of PHS. Jeff had also been a transport driver for the NASCAR teams of Rusty Wallace, Richard Petty and Andy Hillenburg and had been employed at local ambulance companies.
Jeff is survived by three daughters; Jessica J. Searcy (Joshua Bettencourt) of Piketon, Shannen N. (Robert) Bailey of Charlotte, NC, and Melissa L. (Kevin) Dowell of Fairfield, KY; one brother, Roy H. (Faye) Marcum Jr. of Stout: two sisters, Nancy J. Huff of Portsmouth and Katherine Buchanan of Columbus; and seven grandchildren, Josie Bailey, Kaleb DeLozier, Cheyenne Ward, Braeden Bailey, Zane DeLozier, Jason Bettencourt and Linnea Bettencourt.
The family will receive friends at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Cox officiating. The
James Dickey Post 23 American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
