Florice Boggs

   Florice Boggs, 82, of Portsmouth, went to be with her Lord, Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at Hill View Health Care in Portsmouth. She was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Buena Vista, Marion County, GA to the late Rufus Herman and Ocie Bea Dozier Carter. Florice was a member of the Christ Temple Apostolic Church, a 1955 graduate of Portsmouth High School and she had retired as an LPN from the Chillicothe, Ohio Veterans Hospital. Florice was also a Licensed Evangelist, having concentrated in prison ministry.

   She is survived by her brother, Dozier (Barbara) Carter of Dallas, TX; four sisters, Lorene Simmons of Columbus, Ossie Ruth Henderson of Manhattan, New York, NY, Dorothy Faye (Allen) Beal of Dayton, and  Ruby Lee (Richard) Grant of Portsmouth; her stepmother, Doris Carter of Portsmouth; one stepsister, Romie Langford of Portsmouth; two stepbrothers, Gregory Vaughn of Atlanta, GA, and Donald Beauregard of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Portsmouth with Elder Marcus Bendolph officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Scioto Burial Park at McDermott.
