Kimberly Sue Workman, 59, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the SOMC Emergency Room. She was born February 11, 1958 in Portsmouth, a daughter of Doris Jean Gore Workman of Portsmouth and the late Stanley Edward Workman, Sr.
Kim was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 1976 Portsmouth High School graduate. She attended Shawnee State University and Memphis State University and had previously worked as an x-ray tech at the former Mercy Hospital, in youth outreach at First Presbyterian Church and with various after school programs at the former Highland School.
Surviving are her son, Mark Timothy Jackson, Jr., a student at Ohio University; five siblings, Karen Lee (Scott) Grashel, Stanley Edward Workman, Jr., Gordon Cowen Workman, Polly Jean (Richard) Bowman, and Bruce Maurice (Polly A.) Workman, all of Portsmouth; nieces and nephews, Amy (John) Dinovo, Zachary Tyler Grashel, Richelle Leigh Bowman, Bruce Woodrow Workman, Candace Briann Bowman, James Richard Bowman II and Jack Cowen Workman; a great-niece, Aisleigh Jean Bowman; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Steve Cuff officiating and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour Friday.
