Carlene "Kismet" Bratchett, 55, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the James Cancer Center and Solove Research Institute at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus after a brief illness. Born April 26, 1962 in Ironton, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Mildred Russell Jeffries Bratchett.
Kismet was an eligibility specialist for Scioto County Job and Family Services and a 1980 Portsmouth High School graduate. She attended Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her beloved daughter, Elyse L. Waugh and her father, Forrest Waugh of Columbus; her sister, Patty Goodmon of Las Vegas, NV (nephews William and Bruce); brother Robert Charles (Bobbi Jean) Bratchett (nephews Robbie and wife Kelly, great-nephew Tre and great-niece Aleigha, great nephews Blake and Brandon (Kasey), nephew Joshua, great-nephew Storm, nephew Matthew, great-nephews Rhys and Jaydyn); brother Michael James Bratchett (nephew Justin, great-nephews Jackson and Jacob, nephew Jesse, nephew Kevin Dunaway, and nephew Seth); sister-in-law Becky Howe; life-long friend Melissa Wallace; and her love and companion, Ralph F. Scott III. Kismet also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and her extended family at Scioto County Job & Family Services.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her nephew, Storm Bratchett.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 12 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Roth officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour.
