Raymond Bradford

    Raymond Bradford, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born October 29, 1935 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Clarence W. and Bertha Sweetland Bloomfield Bradford.

   Raymond was retired after more than 30 years from the Atomic Energy Plant where he had received several awards as a painter.

    His wife Rosemary Fields Bradford, whom he married in Portsmouth on June 5, 1959, preceded him in death April 6, 2008.

   Raymond is survived by a son, Terry Lee Bradford of Portsmouth; a brother, Fred “Izzy” Bradford of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Kala (Josh) Pinson, Cassie Bradford, Tyler Bradford and Haley Bradford; and one great-granddaughter, Rosie Pinson.

   A son, Timothy Ray Bradford; a brother, Ralph Bradford; and two sisters, Jean Townsend and Helen Schmidt, also preceded him in death.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. John Gowdy officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
