   Timothy George Arms, 60, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home. He was born March 29, 1957 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Paul Moses and Suedell Adams Arms.

   Tim was a 1975 Portsmouth High graduate and he had attended Shawnee State Community College. An active supporter of the Boneyfiddle area, Tim and his wife Stephanie were the owners of the former Ye Olde Lantern. He had also worked as the Pro-Am manager for the former Newberry Sporting Goods, as general manager of the Scioto Trail Wendy’s, Wendy’s in Morgantown, WV, McDonald’s in Chillicothe and the former O’Malley’s in Portsmouth. He and Stephanie also owned and operated the Malt Shop in Waverly and Mrs. Renison’s Crispie Crème Doughnut Shop in Hillsboro. Most recently, Tim had worked at SOMC as a Valet Attendant, Same Day Surgery Liaison and Surgery Purchasing Clerk.

   Tim was a member of the Portsmouth Elks, enjoyed bowling and golf, and he loved sports, especially the Trojans, Buckeyes, Reds and Bengals.

  Surviving is his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 38 years, Stephanie Newman Arms, whom he married March 10, 1979 in Portsmouth at Trinity United Methodist Church; his son, Scott (Kara) Arms of Portsmouth; five brothers, Paul Michael Arms of Portsmouth, John K. (Gena) Arms of Columbus, Steven W. (Monica) Arms of Portsmouth, David B. (Sally) Arms of Richmond, KY and Mark B. (Claudette) Arms of Portsmouth; two granddaughters, Korynn and Reagan Arms; his brother-in-law, Scott Newman of Portsmouth; several nieces, nephews and their families; and his grand dog, Bella.

   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his mother and father-in- law, Pinkie and D.E. Newman.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Chaplain Daron Lilly officiating.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to services Wednesday.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201-25th St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
