Amber Nicole (Smith) Diop

Amber Nicole Diop, 38, of Cincinnati, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in Cincinnati. She was born on November 30, 1984, in Portsmouth, the daughter of Melvin LeRoy Smith and the late Pamela Kay Poore Smith.

   Amber was a 2003 graduate of Portsmouth High School and she attended St. Luke Church. She worked as a phlebotomist at Blueridge Vista Hospital.

   Surviving Amber is her father, Melvin L. Smith of Minford; three daughters, A’Marii K. Smith, A’Minah M. Smith and A’Madi A. Diop, all of Minford; two siblings, Joshua Allen Smith of Vanceburg, KY and Andrea (Gabe) Glenn of Stockdale; her maternal grandmother, Jean Poore of Columbus; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as a niece and nephew.

   In addition to her mother, Pam Smith, Amber was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Willie Poore; and paternal grandparents, George Allen and Blanche Imogene Prosser Smith.

   A Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Elder Ralph Clay and Rev. Sherrill Smith officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour on Saturday.
