Andrea Camille (Saunders) Young

   Andrea Camille Young, 84, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1937, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Russell Hayward and Eunice (Washington) Saunders.

   A member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, Andrea retired after 20 years with the former Lockheed Martin where she had worked as a janitor. She was a member of the union while working and she had also been an RSVP volunteer.

   Surviving are five children, Russell V. (Diana) Young of Chillicothe, Brett Anthony (Rebecca) Young of Lynwood, IL, Rozalind C. Dere, Sondra Y. Luckett and Natasha C. Young, all of Columbus; a stepdaughter, Loretta Lawrence of Ironton; two brothers, Carl F. Saunders of California and Paul Saunders of Cleveland; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren and their families; special sister-in-law, Erma Walton of Titusville, FL; many beloved in-laws; and special adopted children.

   In addition to her parents, Andrea was preceded in death by two children, Walter J. Young and Victoria L. Zimmerman; four siblings, Thomas S. Walton, Dick Saunders, Gregory Saunders and Carolyn Reynolds; grandparents, Thomas and Lucretia Washington and Dick Saunders and Alice Polly Saunders Washington; two grandsons, Terrel Williams and Christopher Oglesby; and a granddaughter, Makayla Oglesby.

   Arrangements are to be announced at a later date.

   Burial will be in Scioto Burial Park under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
