Anthony Eugene Harris II

Anthony Eugene Harris II, 50, of Marietta, GA, a Portsmouth native, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, in Marietta. He was born January 29, 1973, a son of N. Marcia Thompson Harris and Anthony Eugene Harris, both of whom survive.

   Anthony was a 1991 PHS graduate and he attended Kennesaw State University in Marietta. His former employer, DS&G of Austell, GA, recognized him as a beloved, dedicated and longtime employee. A Senior Computer Operator, his position was instrumental in ensuring the computer system had very little downtime to avoid financial losses for the company. He currently worked for Home Health Care in Marietta, where he was a Senior Computer Operator.

   In addition to his parents, Marcia Harris and Anthony Harris, both of Portsmouth, Anthony is survived by two sons, Ahmad Harris and Antonio Harris, both of Marietta; his sister, Maja (Harris) Kennedy of Portsmouth; his brother-in-love, Vincent Kennedy Jr. of Portsmouth; niece, Dasia Kennedy and her children, London Ahani and Amir Anthony; and nephew, Vincent Kennedy III. He also leaves to mourn the mother of his children, Daria “Missy” Eley, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and their families whom he dearly loved.

   Anthony was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ruth A. Butler and James Thompson; and paternal grandparents, Avanell and Marion “Rocky” Mattison.

   Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Richard Jordan officiating.

   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M until the funeral hour.
