Betty Ann Hall, 91, of Portsmouth, died Monday, October 2, 2023, at her home in Rosemount. She was born November 21, 1931, in Wheelersburg, the daughter of the late Carl Franklin and Cynthia Jane Lewis Milliron.
Betty was a 1949 graduate of Glenwood High School and was of the Baptist faith. A homemaker, she had worked at the former Williams Manufacturing Company as a perforator for over 20 years.
She married Russell Hall, Jr. in New Boston on Christmas Day in 1950, and the couple was married for 65 years at the time of Russell’s death on July 18, 2016.
A member of the Order of Eastern Star (OES) for 50 years, Betty served in many capacities and offices, including as past Matron and past Deputy Grand Matron of the Portsmouth Chapter #424 OES, as a White Shrine member and past Worthy High Priestess and president of the Ohio State Association, as a member of Amarynth and past Royal Matron and Grand Officer, and as a Rainbow Girls Board member. Betty was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had served as Secretary and State Counselor.
Surviving is her beloved daughter, Davida (Montie) Spriggs of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Robert Scott (Tiffany) Winebrenner, Justin Winebrenner, Joshua (Julie) Spriggs, Jeremie (Tammy) Spriggs and Jason (Mal) Spriggs; and her great-grandchildren, Finn, Claire and Leif Winebrenner, and Donavon, Zachary, Devon and Brennan Spriggs; a nephew, Rusty (Lois) Milliron of Westerville; and a niece, Mary Murnahan of Portsmouth.
Betty was also preceded in death by two siblings, David Milliron and Alberta Danes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Evans, Minister, officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 P.M. and from 2 P.M. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7 P.M Wednesday immediately following visitation.
