Crystle Lynn Ridout-Smith, 38, of New Boston, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at her home. She was born January 3, 1983 in Portsmouth, a daughter of Sharon Kay Baker Truman and Christopher Todd Ridout, who survive.
Crystle was a former Norfolk & Southern Railway Co. engineer and a 2001 graduate of Minford High School. A woman of many talents, she won a River Days Karaoke contest, was a good cook and was skilled at drywall work and car repairs.
Surviving is her husband, Johnny Matthew Smith, Jr., whom she married in New Boston on May 28, 2021; her mother, Sharon Kay Baker Truman of Wheelersburg; father, Christopher Todd (Trina) Ridout of Minford; two sons, Matthew Ryan Truman of Wheelersburg and Elijah Cole Colley of Minford; a daughter, Calista Kay Colley of Minford; two brothers, Michael Ray Ridout and Gary Dean Truman, Jr. of Wheelersburg; a sister, Abagale Elaine Jarreau of Las Vegas, NV; maternal grandmother, Beverly Baker of New Boston; paternal grandparents, Mike & Delores Ridout of Minford; step-children, Emleigh Smith of Portsmouth and Adalynn Smith of Columbus; and a large extended family who loved her dearly.
Crystle was preceded in death by her beloved stepfather, Gary Dean Truman, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Carl Baker; maternal great-grandmother, Lillie Baker; a special cousin, Robin Waughtel; and a sister-in-law, Stacey Hunt.
Funeral services will be held at 6 P.M. Thursday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Brad Angus officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 P.M. the day of the services.
