David Michael Redding, 81, of Madeira, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Cincinnati. He was born October 19, 1938 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Kenneth and Doris Vivian Warden Redding.
David retired as a computer systems manager after 42 years with Cincinnati Milacron and he was an active and proud member of the Madisonville-Madeira Lodge #419. A 1956 Portsmouth High School graduate, David served in the Army.
His wife, Lora Jane Saddler Redding, preceded him in death April 13, 2020. The couple were married October 17, 1961, in Portsmouth.
Surviving are two sons, Matthew Scott (Shannon) Redding of Prosper, TX and David M. (Karen) Redding Jr. of Nashville, IN; a daughter, Suzanne R. Redding of Florence, KY; one brother, James (Cindy) Redding of Chapin, SC; two sisters, Jan Redding and Jolinda Rockwell, both of Ft. Myers, FL; a sister-in-law, Janie Redding of Rosemount; and five grandchildren, Andrew, David III, Will, Kathrine and Jack Redding.
David was also preceded in death by a brother, John Redding.
A Masonic Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, September 18 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth conducted by members of Lodge #419 and the Aurora Masonic Lodge #48. James Redding will conduct a Memorial Service for Lora Jane and Funeral Service for David immediately following the Masonic Rites. The James Dickey Post #23 American Legion Honor Detail will conduct military graveside rites at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 A.M. until the service hour.
In honor of Mr. Redding's service to our country, the flag of the U.S. Army will fly at the funeral home.
