Delbert "Deb" Fisher Obituary

Delbert “Deb” Jake Fisher, 79, of Stout, was surrounded by his family when he went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at his residence. He was born May 2, 1941 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Virginia Ann (Smith) and Edward Leo Fisher.

Delbert was a man of great faith who loved the Lord and instilled Christian values in his family. He was a man of many talents, but his family was always his highest priority. He enjoyed nothing more than for family and friends to visit and enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch with him.

A self-employed machinist, Delbert taught Machine Trades at the former Scioto County Joint Vocational School. He received a teaching certificate from the Ohio State University. An inventor, Delbert received a U.S. Patent for a machine used today in the restaurant industry. The owner of the former Fisher's Trenching, he was also a talented artist, taxidermist and licensed pilot.

Delbert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Faye Reedy Fisher. The couple was married July 3, 1960 in Turkey Creek, Nile Twp. Also surviving are two sons, Don (Denise) Fisher of Orient and Dennis (Veronica) Fisher of Stout; two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Geno of Chillicothe and Dena (Chris) Slusher of Beaver; one brother, Joe (Linda) Fisher of West Union; 18 grandchildren, Lindsay Willoughby, Sayra Langhals, Megan Fisher, Sage Ikeda, Tate Ikeda, Luke Fisher, Keith Miles Fisher, Dakota Fisher, Vanessa Flanery, Michal Chinn, Morgan Geno-York, Jake Geno, Whitney Carroll, Taylor Stacy, Chandler Stacy, Tori Slusher, Taylor Slusher and Mackenzie Slusher; 7 great-grandchildren, Johnny, Jayden, Caiden, Aiken, David Jr., Noah and Lennox; and his beloved dog, Millie.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings, Jackie Edward Fisher, Ronald Fisher and Cleo Fisher.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor John Reedy officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour Wednesday. Masks will be required at all times.
