Freddie Kay Johnson, 66, of Jefferson City, TN, a former Portsmouth resident, passed away at her home on December 23, 2024. She was born in Harlan, KY on October 27, 1958, the daughter of the late Donzie Russell & Hugh Bowen Greene, Sr.
Kay was a 1976 Portsmouth High School graduate, and she worked as a CNA at Jefferson City Health & Rehab.
Surviving is her husband, Samuel Fredrick Johnson; four brothers, Larry James (Gail) Greene, Hugh (Cynthia) Greene, Jr., and Byron Greene, all of Portsmouth, and Stacey (Cheryl) Greene of Charleston, WV; a sister, Dondrianna (Mark) VonderEmbse of Westerville; two stepchildren; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Robert ‘Major’ Greene and Belinda Connally.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Scioto Burial Park, with Bishop Harold Bell officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
