Gary Roger Keaton, 61, of Sciotoville, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born October 10, 1962, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Virgil Willie and Opal Delores Ward Keaton. Roger spent the majority of his childhood in West Virginia, then moved to Minford, where he spent his senior year and graduated from Minford High School in 1980.
He worked many years as a cook at the former Pop’s Place in Wheelersburg. In his free time, Roger enjoyed spending time with his beloved family.
Surviving are his two sons, Derek R. (Jodi) Keaton of Summerville, SC, and Shane A. (Alicia) Keaton of Portsmouth; five siblings, Beverly (Lawrence) Rawlins of Wheelersburg, Paul Keaton of Left Hand, WV, Renee Keaton of Spencer, WV, Tim (Lori) Keaton of Left Hand, WV and Tom Keaton of Clay, WV; a sister-in-law, Teresa Keaton of Left Hand, WV; four grandchildren, Kamryn, Baleigh, Kayson and Maddilyn Keaton; and two great-grandsons, Cayge Jaxon and Pierson Kai.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a two siblings, Mike Keaton and Wyvetta Hall.
There are to be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
