Jason Thomas “Smiley” Montgomery, 50, of Portsmouth, died at his home on Sunday, August 6, 2023. He was born February 6, 1973, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Shirley Ann Sexton Bryant and Thomas Montgomery.

Jason attended Portsmouth High School and he loved meeting and talking to people. He especially enjoyed sports, and followed the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, as well as the OSU Buckeyes.

Surviving is his daughter Leanne Montgomery of Otway; siblings, Jeffrey A. Bryant of Portsmouth, Scott A. (Denise) Bryant of New Lexington, Sheila (Ron) Bryant Howard of Rubyville, Todd M. (Susanne) Bryant and Darrell Bryant, all of Portsmouth.

In addition to his parents, Jason was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Moore King.
