Jerry Lee Fisher, 75, of Portsmouth, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the SOMC Hospice Center, surrounded by his family. He was born September 24, 1948, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Goldie Marie Fisher Taylor.
Jerry loved driving and worked as an over-the-road truck driver for many years, including 20 years with Luther Transfer. He enjoyed fishing, computer games and tinkering in his garage. However, his favorite hours were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 57 years, Sharon Kay Lockhart Fisher. The couple married on October 11, 1966, in Portsmouth. Also surviving are four sons, Cody Lee Fisher, Jerry Lee Fisher, Jr., Steven Troy (Tammy) Fisher, Jeffrey Isaac (Amanda) Fisher, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, Patricia “Patty” (Mike Miller) Taylor of Portsmouth, Karen (Charles) Miller of Coshocton, and Sharon Estep of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Brittany) Fisher, Carlie (Christopher Cobb) Fisher, Jeffrey I. Fisher II and Cynthia Dawn Marie Fisher; and six great-grandchildren, Brylee, Jazlynn, Meila, Leonidas, Holden and Haven.
Jerry was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Taylor and Robert Collins.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Thursday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth. The interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
