Johnny Farmer, 93, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at his home.
He was born May 25, 1928 in Canton, OH, a son of the Late George and Dammie Mae Owens Duncan. Johnny was a Korean War veteran, a former member of James Dickey Post 23, retired from CAO, a former liaison officer at SOCF and had received an Associate Degree from Shawnee State University.
Johnny is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Salyers Farmer, whom he in Mansfield, OH on August 20, 1970; his son, Don (Ellyn) Reardon of Pittston, PA; his daughter, Lisa Ann Tackett of Portsmouth; 6 grandchildren Jackie Tackett, Jonathan Tackett, Jenifer Hayes, Amanda Artmont, Erin Harvey, Molly Reardon and 11 great-grandchildren and special friend, Jack Tackett. He was also preceded in death by siblings; James T. Stafford, Herman Stafford and Dorothy Stafford.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at noon in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dennis Dawes, minister officiating. James Dickey Post 23 Honor detail will provide graveside military rites.
