Larry Randall Williams, 82, of West Portsmouth, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at SOMC. He was born in Baltimore, MD, on November 28, 1942, to the late Randall and Gerlean Combs Williams.
Larry graduated from Valley High School in 1960, where he was captain of the school’s first football team and class president. He worked as an owner/operator truck driver and was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union Local 92.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Anita Carol Maxie Williams, whom he married on August 20, 1960, in Portsmouth. The couple was blessed with two children, the late Larry Kevin Williams, and Angela Crystal Murphy of West Portsmouth.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kevin (Samantha) Williams, Kyle (Chelsea) Williams, and Sean (Savannah) Murphy; five great grandchildren, Kadence and Scarlett Williams, and Haylin, Calliope and Carson Murphy; and Kevin’s fiancée, Tammy Johnston of Middletown.
Larry was also preceded in death by a brother, David Williams.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Jan Schackart Parlin officiating. The family will receive guests between the hours of 1-2 P.M. Sunday.
