Robert Edward Malone II, 79, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was born September 25, 1944, in Baltimore, MD to the late Robert Edward and Harriett Nancy Malone.
Bob retired from OSCO after working as a Heat Treat Furnace Operator for 46 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time, as well as spending time loving on his grandkids. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in the Class of 1962.
Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sara Marie Slark Malone. The couple married in Portsmouth on April 25, 1964.
Also surviving are his children, Robert E. (Lisa) Malone III of Martins Ferry and Trina K. Malone (Chester) Ward of Wakefield; five grandchildren, Heather Dawn Ward, Tiffany Sue Malone, Meagan Renee Malone, Aaron Tyler Ward and Katie Marie Taylor; three step-grandchildren, Jessica Robinson, Paula Cika and Elizabeth Grubb; two great-grandchildren, Jadyn E. Harris and Jaxon A. Taylor; seven step-great-grandchildren, Kendia and Macie Robinson, Kaylani, Kelco and Kora Kai, and Charlie and Flora Grubb; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by two daughters, Christie L. and Shannon R. Malone; and four siblings, John E., Thomas W., Michael and Roberta Malone.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, Minister officiating and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour on Monday.
