"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed: for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee: yea, I will help thee: yea, I will uphold thee with the Right hand of my Righteousness." Isaiah 41:10 KJV

Teressia Ann Turner Bowen, 69, born October 25, 1952 to the late Eva M. Larry and Clinton Turner in Harlan, KY. After graduation from Harlan High School, she moved to Lexington, KY and later to Portsmouth, OH.

Teressia was employed by the Goodyear Atomic Plant and was retired from Portsmouth City Schools. She was most active in her Church – Cornerstone UMC and her community. Of all her many endeavors – Rejoice & Recovery was most dear to her heart, fulfilling scripture found in I Cor. 12:28 speaking specifically to helps (Outreach). Teressia possessed an infectious laughter, she welcomed you with arms stretched wide for an embrace, had a beautiful smile and always an encouraging word.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Earnest R. “Petey” Coleman; granddaughter, Adriona M. Coleman; sister, Cathy L. “Tootie” Bledsoe; and a nephew, Gary M. Hairston, Jr.

Teressia is survived by her loving sons, Stephen D. and Brian W. Bowen of Columbus; grandchildren, Jayla C. and Channing A. Bowen of Columbus, OH and Jayden Coleman of Lexington, KY; great-granddaughter, Ariel N. Davidson; brother, Ernest R. “Pete” Turner of  Valrico, FL; sisters, Sheila J. James, Myrna J. Banks and Chriss Turner, all of Lexington, KY; eight nieces; three nephews; great-nieces & great-nephews; loving cousins; her most loving, helpful and caring brother and sister-In-love, Gary and Marilyn Hairston; special lifelong friend, Michael W. Trigg; and her loving church family and friends of the community.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Pastor Darrell Gant officiating under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
