Ben Davis, Jr.

   Ben Davis, Jr., 87, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the SOMC Hospice Center. He was born December 15, 1930 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Ben and Susan Grayson Davis, Sr.

   Ben was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church and an Army Korean War era veteran. He had worked for the former N&W Railway Company and as a construction laborer.

   Surviving are his children, Ben (Michelle) Davis III of Columbus, Benita A. Reeves of Killeen, TX and Shiara Fayson Coney of Baltimore, MD; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Charles Davis and Mary Alice Bendolph.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Temple Apostolic Church with Elder Marcus Bendolph officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Military graveside services will be conducted by the James Dickey Post #23 Honor Detail.

   The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
