Jeanette (Joseph) Bennett

   Jeanette Joseph Bennett of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. She was born in Whitesville, WV to the late William Mehsen and Bahia Merhi Joseph.

    She was a home economics teacher for Glenwood Schools in New Boston for 29 years and at Wharton Junior High School in Wharton, WV for five years. Jeanette was a graduate of Marshall University and Sherman High School in Seth, WV. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the James Dickey Post #23 American Legion Auxiliary.

   Jeanette was preceded in death December 28, 2017 by her husband Michael Lee Bennett, whom she married August 24, 1973 in Maryville, TN.   

   Surviving are four brothers, Chester “Chet” M. Joseph of Baltimore, MD, Adle M. Joseph of Leesburg, VA, Fred M. Joseph of Richmond, VA and Jim M. Joseph of Charleston, WV; two sisters, Juanita Richani of Bristol, TN and Eva McCall of Charleston, SC; and two stepchildren, Michael Bennett, Jr. and Michelle Counts, both of Portsmouth.

   She was also preceded in death by three siblings, J.M. Joseph, Norman Joseph and Julia Talhouk.

   The family will receive friends from 11 to 2 Thursday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth and from 10 to Noon Friday at Harding Funeral & Cremations in Charleston with interment in Sunset Memorial Park, Charleston, WV. 

   Funeral services will be held at Noon Friday, January 26, 2018 at Harding Funeral & Cremations, 514-50th St., SE, Charleston, WV 25304.
