Rosemary Richards, 80, a longtime Portsmouth resident, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Otterbein of Loveland. She was born January 17, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late Henry Leland and Bessie Leoma Leonard Saunders.
Rosemary was a homemaker and worked as an administrative assistant for Coca-Cola Bottling Company and the former Torco Pest Control. She was a 1956 Portsmouth High School graduate and a longtime member of the Portsmouth First Church of the Nazarene. She later attended the former Central Presbyterian Church. Rosemary also enjoyed her time as a Brownie leader and Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death September 22, 1997 by her husband, Donald Harvey Richards, whom she married February 20, 1960 in Portsmouth.
Surviving are her son, Donald Lee (Svetlana) Richards of Mason; two daughters, Luann (Butch) Bass of Milford and Susan (John Mitchell) Dye of Lake Charles, LA; ten grandchildren, Alex (Autumn), Griffen and Sydney Richards, Hannah, Kelsey and Evan Breitenbach, Alexis and Kursten Garcia, and Sarah and Hailey Dye; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Breitenbach, Jackson Beam and Aaliyah Valentine.
Rosemary was also preceded in death by siblings, William Earl Saunders, Anna Marie Saunders and Lulabell Beagle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Evan Fisher officiating and interment in Manchester Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday
