Solomon Taishawn Smith

   Solomon Taishawn Smith, infant son of LaToshia Renee Malone of Portsmouth and Tyrone Augustus Smith of Columbus, died shortly after birth on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at The OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

   In addition to his parents, Solomon is survived by three brothers, Tyrone “T.J.” Smith, Jr. and Taijai Smith, both of Snellville, GA and Jordan Rivera of Columbus; two sisters,  Dasharie Walton Columbus and Judah Malone of Portsmouth; maternal grandparents, Maxine Malone of Portsmouth and Donald (Lesha) Malone of Chillicothe; several special aunts and uncles; and his Godmother, Bethany Grant.

   He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Augustus and Mildred Smith; and an aunt, Valerie Ann Jackson.

   A Memorial Service will be held at noon, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at  the 14th Street Community Center with Elder Marcus Bendolph officiating.

   Immediately following the service, a Memorial Baby Shower and Dinner will be held at the 14^th Street Community Center. All baby items donated will benefit women and their infants at Stepping Stones and Focus. The Solomon Smith Memorial Shower will become an annual event benefiting those in recovery.
