Virginia Ann “Ginny” Silver, 75, of Piketon, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the SOMC Hospice Center. She was born January 18, 1943 in Denison, TX to the late Ray W. and Mary Mildred Sowder Lewis.
Ginny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth and a former member of Madison Missionary Baptist Church in Minford. She lived all over the world, traveling with her husband who served in the Air Force and she taught school in Japan for the Department of Defense and worked as a secretary in Durham, NC. Ginny received a Bachelor of Business Education from North Texas State University and she was a member of the T.O.P.S. Chapter #1428 in Peebles.
Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Robert Dale Silver, Sr., whom she married June 11, 1966 in Dallas, TX; two children, Robert Dale (Gretchen) Silver, Jr. of Newport News, VA and Stephanie (Stephen) Curry of Orting, WA; her brother, Larry Ray Lewis of Piketon; four grandsons, Timothy, Nathan and David Curry and Dustin Silver; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Curry.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Ryan Brown and Pastor Stephen Curry officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Saturday.
