Arnetta Frances Lewis, 101, of Portsmouth, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Portsmouth Health & Rehab. She was born on November 4, 1922, in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Charles Leslie and Blanche Belle Davis Williams.
Arnetta was a member of Gateway Church of God and a homemaker. She had also worked as a bander at the former Mitchellace.
On December 7, 1949, she married Claude Alvin Lewis in Maysville, KY. The couple had been married for 56 years at the time of Claude’s death on January 5, 2006.
Arnetta is survived by the adopted daughter who was by her side, Linda Rogers of Portsmouth, and her family; her great-granddaughter, Brittany Pollitt of Sciotoville; a great-great-grandson, Alexavier Isaac Neal.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Dale Leslie Hespel; her granddaughter, Holly Ann Pollitt; and three siblings, Charles Edward Williams, William Washington Williams, and Marjorie Lea Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Shannon Bowling officiating. The interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour on Thursday.
