Helen Louise Perry, 89, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by her family. She was born August 7, 1929 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late John Morrison and Wilda Catherine Cuppett McMaster.
Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a 1947 Portsmouth West High School graduate. She worked as an auditor for the State of Ohio and the Scioto County Commissioners. She truly enjoyed her last position as secretary and bookkeeper for her daughter’s family business, Pendleton Implements. Helen also volunteered at the New To You shop at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church where she had also served as the bookkeeper and a bingo worker.
Her husband, Walter Eugene Perry, whom she married on November 5, 1947, preceded her in death on April 11, 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Wayne (Lynn) Perry of West Portsmouth and Pat Perry of Sciotoville; two daughters, Linda Marie Pendleton of Portsmouth and Constance Anne Bice of Hilliard; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Three daughters, Nancy Louise Bashford, Susan Elaine Pick Monteith and Sally Ann Mault Castle; two sons-in-law, Gary Pendleton and Mike Bice; and one grandson, Darren T. Pendleton also preceded Helen in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Yokum officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary immediately following.
