Sandra Louise (Fitch) Lemons

   Sandra Louise Lemons, 84, of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Randall Residence of Wheelersburg. She was born to the late Lee O. and Margarite Beard Fitch on April 23, 1937, in Portsmouth.

   A 1955 Portsmouth High School graduate, Sandy was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and had formerly attended Wheelersburg United Methodist Church and Lindenwald United Methodist Church in Hamilton where she and her husband, Bill, had lived for several years. She was an active member in all of the church’s choirs. Sandy could often be heard softly singing hymns or whistling and she made friends wherever she went with her effervescent and cheerful personality. A former BSA Troop 21, Den 2, Den Mother, her former scouts still share stories of the fun times they had in their weekly meetings. Sandy had a great love for her family, her dachshunds and reading.

   Her husband, William Robert “Bill” Lemons, preceded her in death March 21, 2016. The couple married July 9, 1955, in Lawrenceburg, IN.

   Surviving are her two sons, William Robert “Bill” Lemons Jr. and R. Alan (Carolyn) Lemons, all of Wheelersburg; a son-in-law, Geoffrey B. Easter of West Portsmouth; ten grandchildren, Emily (Frank) Andrews, Robert (Edna) Lemons, Jennifer (R.J.) Neimer, Chelsea Lemons-Rainier, Seth Lemons, Sarah (Lindsey Rhodes) Easter, Ben Easter, Leigh Erin (Jared) Crochet, Megan Easter and Andrew (Hikari) Easter; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandsons.

   Sandy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Joanne Easter; and sister, Cynthia Robinson.

   Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, minister, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.

   The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour at the funeral home Saturday.

   In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree, available on the funeral home website, in Sandy’s memory.

   Heartfelt thanks are extended to the administration and staff of Randall Residence of Wheelersburg for the compassionate care that Sandy was given in her time there.
