Dear dear Genetta...What an inspiration you were, you are and you will be.  Your upbeat spirit always provided a Light for those around you.  This year I chaired the Episcopal float in the MLK parade here in Savannah and looked forward to sending you the video because it was because of your leadership that I became so involved. I will miss our MLK weekend phone chats.  Thank you for your laugh and your kindness. General, you will be missed.
Peace be with you.

Kim, Kevin and Family,

I am so sad to hear of your loss. Mrs Genetta was such a sweet lady. She was always good to my family. It hurts my heart to even write this. She always called my son Channing "big foot" and would say Hayley has her dad wrapped. We would just laugh and have good conversations.

Even, though your mom will no longer be around being from Portsmouth you are surrounded by wonderful people. If you are having a not so good day you have all those lovely people to lean on.

Love,

Dondri Greene-VonderEmbse and Family

Kim & Kevin,
I know what good friends my mom & your mom where & how mom was always calling me and speaking about Mrs. Moore. I remember all the Martin Luther King events I attended in Portsmouth and how special that is in my heart now, so when I read that Mrs. Moore was the founder & chairperson for the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Committee that just let me know just how special of a person she was. She will be greatly missed and I pray for peace for you and your familys at this time.
God bless.

Kim,
I just read the news and wanted to express my deepest condolences to you and your family.  Your Mom made such an impact on my life.  She never let me be "Satisfied". Even when I graduated college and worked with her at the school she always wanted to educate me on her Life Lessons.  I sure do miss our conversations sitting on the back steps of the school eating Kiwi and looking at me over he top of her glasses.  She was a great lady.

Mrs. Moore was one of the loveliest people I have ever known; friendly, gentle and kind to everyone. It was my privilege to have worked on various community projects with her. All who knew her carry a piece of her goodness and remember her fondly.

Dear Kimmie and Kevin,

I think you know how much I loved your mother and how much I will miss her.  She was one of the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful and generous women I ever met.  She was a true role model to me, for she was the first lady I knew personally who pursued an education, a career, successfully raised a family and maintained a beautiful household as well.  That was rare when we were growing up.  Your mother was a true friend to my mother, grandmother and my Aunt Olive and, when they left this earth, she became their surrogate.  She has always been there for me and, when Sharon had cancer as a child, she sent her cards, toys and gifts regularly until she recovered.  I could talk to her about anything, she listened attentively and gave me honest, solid advice.  The Lord''s gain in heaven is our loss here--until we meet her again, she will be tearfully missed and fondly remembered always.  I love you both!!
