Henry Thomas Lancaster, 74, of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born April 13, 1943 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Leslie Thomas Lancaster and Louise Stacey Lancaster Semones.
Tom was a retired car salesman, having worked for several local dealerships, and he had been a driver for ASC for 6 years. A member and former deacon at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, Tom was also an Army veteran and a 1965 Portsmouth High School graduate.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Mary Carolyn Arthur Lancaster, whom he married August 20, 1965 in Portsmouth; two children, Susan Renee (Charles) Stollings of Greenfield and Paul Thomas (Lauryn) Lancaster of Portsmouth; two sisters, Anita Oiler of Wheelersburg and Reva (Barry) Mitchell of Portsmouth; a half brother, William Semones of Wheelersburg; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Stephanie, Emily and Morgan Stollings, and Tyson, Bryson and Grayson Lancaster; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by a sister, Coreen Shover; a nephew, Greg Shover; and his stepfather, Charles Semones.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Revs. Ken Estep and Chris Oiler officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with the James Dickey Post #23 Honor Detail conducting Military Graveside Rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
The flag of the U.S. Army will fly at the funeral home in honor of Mr. Lancaster’s service to our country.
