Margaret Anne (VanFosson) Strehle

  Margaret Anne VanFossan Strehle, 88, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Hill View Health Care. She was born November 29, 1928 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Jesse and Mabel Lesser VanFossan.

   Anne retired from the Portsmouth City Schools where she taught for 30 years. She was of the Methodist faith, but attended First Lutheran Church for many years with her husband. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Ohio and Scioto County Retired Teachers Associations. She received a Bachelor of Education from Ohio University, where she also had completed graduate work.

   In addition to her parents, Anne was also preceded in death by her husband, George Walter Strehle on Sept. 13, 2007. They were married in Powellsville on June 18, 1967.

   Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday , November 16, 2017 in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth with Rev. Richard North officiating.
